The other night I felt like watching Inglourious Basterds. Unfortunately, it was late at night and I couldn’t just go to a theater, buy a ticket, and watch it immediately. Since it is a newly released movie, I couldn’t get it on demand or anything like that. I didn’t really expect to find a copy of the movie for free online, but I searched anyway. On the youtube trailers for Inglourious Basterds there were many posts promoting free movie websites, but none of them had the actual film. I looked through almost all of them. Many sites did have free movies, but the movies were old, and Inglourious Basterds was never there. Other sites tried to give me viruses and make me download spyware. Finally I came across a site called Yourfreefilms.tk (Click here to go to it). I scrolled down the recent films list and found Inglourious Basterds. I clicked on it, not really expecting it to have the actual film, or if it did have the film, I expected it to be low quality trash that was filmed in the theater.
When the play tab opened it told me I had to do a survey to watch the film. At that point I was highly skeptical. I almost closed the site right there but I didn’t really have anything else to do so I chose a survey and opened it. The survey was a quiz asking if I was a “good kisser”. I quickly put in random answers and got through the first 2 pages, but that was when the survey asked for personal information(My name, email, and address). I gave it a fake name, fake address, and fake email, and luckily that worked. After that I was given some “offers” to do. They asked for my phone number and stuff like that but I was able just to click the small “skip” button near the bottom of the page and pass them without putting in any info. Then came pages of offers that asked me to select yes or no to sign up for things. I just selected no to everything and went on. After about 3 pages of this the survey was complete. It told me my kissing could use a little work (DANG!) but I was then able to watch the movie. The movie was full length and very good quality, not HD, but better than most online movie quality. I was very happy to have been able to watch that movie free online, and the next day I tried to watch another movie.
The movie I tried to watch on the second day was “Whiteout” which is a film about a murderer in Alaska and hasn’t even been released in theaters yet. I had to do another survey to watch this one, and after I was done the movie played without a hitch. However, about halfway through the movie the screen turned black and I could do nothing to bring the movie back up. I emailed the site owner and within 4 hours he replied saying that he had fixed the error and it should be working smoothly. I went back and watched the rest of the film without incident.
I don’t know how this site is able to show newly released movies for free online without being shut down for copyright infractions, but I believe it has something to do with the offshore hosting company that hosts the website. I highly recommend this website because it offers good quality movies for free online, some of the movies aren’t even in theaters yet. Unfortunately, the site is not without its glitches. On Sunday night I tried to watch the movie Sorority Row, which is a horror flick about 5 sorority sisters who accidentally kill their sister and then try to cover it up, but are murdered later by an unknown person. When I clicked the play button nothing happened. Thinking that perhaps that movie was glitched I tried two more movies, “Jennifer’s Body” and “Final Destination”, but neither of them worked. I didn’t want to bother the site owner again so I just left the computer and did some chores around the house. About two hours later I came back and tried watching “Sorority Row” again. It worked without any problems and I was able to watch until the end.
This is a really great website and I urge anyone who has been frustrated watching low quality movies or trying to find new movies free online to try it. It really is worth it, despite the occasional glitches you will be able to watch the newest and best movies in good quality for free online. Try it here.
